First Karma To Burn studio album in 8 years out now!

Karma To Burn - Appalachian Incantation Karma To Burn’s long awaited new album, Appalachian Incantation, finally saw the light of day on Friday the 30th of April 2010. Currently only available through Naplam Records (the first 100 copies ordered via Napalm Records will come with a free poster), Appalachian Incantation will be on sale via Amazon UK on Monday (3rd of May) and Amazon US on the 11th of May.

Interestingly the band have chosen to put out their record just as their current European tour comes to an end (which include a set at this year’s Roaburn festival). A new and exciting marketing ploy or slight oversight, who knows? Bizarre release timing aside Appalachian Incantation, the first studio album in 8(!) years, promises to be another great album from Morgantown, Virginia’s finest. Produced by ex-Kyuss bassist  Scott Reeder the album contains 8 instrumental tracks (41 – 48) and Waiting On The Western World which features Daniel Davis of Year Long Disaster on vocals.

Although the band’s European tour has now finished Karma To Burn still have plenty of US dates coming up:

May 14 – Brooklyn, NY @ Knitting Factory
May 15 – Philadelphia, PA
May 16 – Baltimore, MD @ Ottobar
May 17 – Springfield, VA @ Jaxx
May 19 – Pittsburgh, PA @ 31st Pub
May 20 – Charleston, WV
May 21 – Huntington, WV @ V Club
May 22 – Morgantown, WV @ 123 Pleasant St.

May 26 – Chicago, IL @ Double Door

Anyway, here’s the video for Waiting On The Western World . . .

  • I thought these were gone for good. Track listings are still completely mad / irrelevant. I’m hoping for a vinyl release of this.

I’m a bit gutted that I missed them when they were over, I really wanted to catch them wit Sons Of Alpha Centauri in London, but money, or more accurately the lack thereof, put a kybosh on that. I’m sure that if you sit tight there will be a special edition along before too long.
