Bad news / good news
It seems like it’s all bad news at the moment!
Mastodon have announced via their Myspace blog that the band has been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour due to guitarist Bill Kelliher being taken ill. Here’s what the band had to say on their blog . . .
“MASTODON regret to inform their fans that their upcoming Summer tour of Europe originally set to begin June 5, in Germany and ending July 3, in Finland has been cancelled. Guitarist Bill Kelliher who has been diagnosed with Pancreatitis has been advised by doctors to continue further medical treatment. Bill’s medical team are optimistic and expect a full recovery in the weeks ahead as the band looks forward to being part of BlackDiamondSkye also featuring Alice In Chains, Deftones, slated to begin Sep. 16, in Chicago.”
So, now for some good news! Shrinebuilder have rescheduled the London show they were forced to cancel due to the volcano. They will be playing The Scala in Kings cross on Thursday December 2nd, tickets cost £15 and are available here. If you still have tickets for the cancelled April show then it would probably be worth getting in touch with the venue to check if they are still valid. If we hear anything more we’ll let you know.

As you’re no doubt already aware, Paul Gray, bassist for Slipknot was found dead on Monday 24th of May. I have to admit to never having been a fan of Slipknot but it’s a shame that someone should die at the age of only 38! Seeing as how quickly this has come after the deaths of Pete Steele and Dio you can’t help but wonder if there’s something in the water!
And finally . . .
